It’s important to check their credentials on your own, and to ensure they are credible 501 charitable organizations. Our goal at SOFREP is to give you a list of legitimate Special Operations charities that we stand behind.

Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF)
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is a great charity. They also cover all branches of service. To learn more or donate click on the link above.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides full scholarship grants and educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel who die in operational or training missions and immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations personnel and their families. Red Circle Foundation (RCF)
The Red Circle Foundation (RCF) was established in 2012 by former US Navy SEAL Brandon Webb, author of the New York Times Best Seller, The Red Circle (A SEAL memoir).
RCF’s Mission
Our mission is to provide gap funding for Special Operations families in need. There are a lot of great charities that serve the Special Operations community however, most take weeks to months before funds can be deployed to help people in need. This is where RCF comes in, we can act within minutes and provide immediate assistance to bridge this funding gap.
Brothers in Arms Foundation
These guys help out Marine/FMF Corpsman and their families who’ve fallen or been wounded supporting Marine Corps Special Operations. To donate visit BrothersInArmsFoundation.org.
Operation Hawkeye (OHe)
Operation Hawkeye is a boy’s mission to honor fallen special operations warriors, including 17 Navy SEALs and 14 other heroes killed in action on August 6, 2011 in Afghanistan. The mission rallies emotional and financial support for the families of the fallen using basketball, working closely with the Navy SEAL Foundation, Red Circle Foundation, USSOCOM Care Coalition and other major partners dedicated to serving the special operations community. Green Beret Foundation
The Green Beret Foundation provides unconventional resources to facilitate the special needs of our wounded, ill and injured and imparts unique support to the Special Forces community in order to strengthen readiness and uphold Green Beret traditions and values. Get involved here!

The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation
Glen Doherty was one of the four Americans killed in a terror attack in Benghazi, Libya on September 12, 2012. The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation is our way to honor Glen’s life and his beliefs.
Glen believed in education, improving oneself and building skills. He believed life should be earned by hard work and hard play. Celebrate this beautiful world that we live in, recreate as much as humanly possible. Help others, and surround yourself with people that you respect who challenge you and make you a better person. Through this Foundation our goal is to pay it forward, to spread Glen’s love and passion for life to as many individuals as possible.
MSG Jared Van Aalst Foundation
The MSG Jared Van Aalst Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization established to honor the memory of a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him. Founded by Jared’s wife, Katie, and the Van Aalst family, the Foundation’s aim is to raise money through athletic competitions and fundraising events, and award collegiate academic scholarships to students who meet the Foundation’s criteria.
Navy SEALs Fund
Navy SEALs Fund is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3), organization established in December of 2009 by former Navy SEALs. The primary mission of the Navy SEALs Fund is to provide relief through educational and/or financial assistance for current and former SEAL teammates and families.
As a small non-profit, they are able to respond quickly to urgent and unique needs. The Navy SEALs Fund facilitates help for current, retired, and former Navy SEALs/families in need of assistance as a result of injury or loss of life. They also provide legal financial assistance for all branches of the military for combat related charges and even post-military cases where the Integrity of the Veteran or Uniform is being defended.
The MARSOC Foundation
The MARSOC Foundation was established to provide benevolent support to active duty and medically retired MARSOC personnel and their families as well as to the families of Marines who have lost their lives in service to our Nation.
